Kolo Barst has created a unique musical style for himself which seduces your soul and gives expression to the soul and the suffering of his homeland, the Caribbean island of Martinique. The slow Creole blues artiste was born Aimé Césaire, in Basse-Pointe and has been instrumental in the fight of the rehabilitation of black cultures. He sings of love, peace, wisdom, respect, humility, solidarity and justice, in the social reality of his homeland.
His first album was a best seller in the region which includes “Lot bô so” including the flagship title “February 74″ which flooded airwaves in Martinique by revealing little-known historical facts. “February 74″ was written in honor of murdered farm laborers for demonstrating and followed six years later with another album “Bidim grace” which furthered the visionary cause that he wanted to portray.
