Born in 1988 in French Guiana, Fanny J (born Jacques) made her debut in 2004 a singing competition. Fanny won another competition in 2006 and was was spotted by Warren, singer and producer of Guyanese Zouk who decided to take her career in hand. The name of Fanny J seemed more appropriate for the sexy, sultry singer and when hit single “Anchored to your port”, a single romantic song in which the rapper Mokobé made the charts… Fanny J was on the rise!
The success of this song encouraged the artist to continue her adventure and with the support of Warren a perfectionist and demanding producer and studio director, the first album “Fanny J” was released in June 2008. This new hope of French music, an “exotic” off shoot of zouk music, shows enough personality to develop sustainably and reminds the metropolis that Guyanese artists have something in the belly to sing about.
In 2008, awarded by the jury of the afro-Caribbean Arts Society another winning trophy, this exciting artist continues to reveal her full potential also participating in the writing of her some of her songs. Fanny J will mesmerize you in 2011.
