St Peter's Fisheries Cooperative hosts second annual Eat Fish Day

All roads lead to Dublanc on Sunday, November 9 when the St. Peter's Fisheries Cooperative will hold its second annual Eat Fish Day.

Eat Fish Day is a cultural celebration of fish eating utilizing a variety of different recipes. There will be French, Venezuelan, Cuban, Chinese, Japanese, American, Dominican and other fish dishes from which to choose.

While enjoying your fish, you can watch both local and foreign cultural performances. There will be a variety of activities for children from a bouncy castle to face painting to races and games. You can even hook a fish on land and it's your -yes FREE.

Club DVD will be present throughout the day. Musical groups Extreme Band from Colihaut, MFR from Portsmouth, and Triple K will play later in the evening starting at 6:00

Eat Fish Day is the Cooperative's main fundraiser for projects like the "Eat Fish in Schools" - an island-wide fish lunch program.

The long term objectives of Eat Fish Day are to raise awareness about the health benefits of eating fish as well as the economic importance to the livelihoods of our local fishermen and development of Dominica.
