Half a decade ago, three friends, who had worked together in some arena of music, almost simultaneously made the decision to further their education. Knowing that the state of their homeland, Haiti, was unsure and insecure, Carlo Vieux, Richard Cave, and Mickael Guirand, each decided to leave and set their sights on the United States. Always driven by their passion for music, this small group of guysThe name of the trio is obtained by coupling the two first letters of the given names of each of the singers from Carlo finally Mickael passing by their companion Richard.
The three friends always had the same desire to create a unique sound with socially charged lyric lyrics powerful enough to encompass the troubles of their homeland Haiti, ‘Ayiti Bang, Bang’ was released in the summer of 2001. Instantly CARIMI became a household name and Always driven by their passion for music, this small group of guysthis Haitian KOMPA music group is known as one of the first younger generation digital bands to put out music that touched upon the political pressures and the deteriorating security of Haiti.
This dynamic collective has proven to be a force to be reckoned with and CARIMI not only has the gift of talent but the drive and dedication to make their dreams come true. They have received lots of accolades from the international community including Album of the year, risen to the top of the charts across billboards in Haiti, Guadeloupe, Paris, Guyanne Francaise, Canada and parts of Europe.
